- Quotations and Agreement:
All quotations provided by me are given on the basis of a detailed assessment and are intended to reflect accurately the cost of the services to be provided. These quotations are subject to the following terms:
- Validity of Quotation: Each quotation is valid for a period of 30 days from the date of issue unless specified otherwise. If not accepted within this time frame, the quote may be subject to review and possible amendment.
- Scope of Work: The quotation outlines the specific services, materials, and labour costs as discussed. Any changes or additional work requested by the client not included in the initial quotation may result in adjustments to the final invoice.
- Acceptance: Acceptance of my quotation can be given either verbally or in writing. By accepting the quotation, the client agrees to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined herein. This constitutes a contractual agreement between me and you - the client.
- Alteration to Agreement: Any changes to the work scope or conditions agreed upon in the initial quotation must be made in writing and accepted by both parties. Such changes may affect the overall cost and timeframe of the project.
- Exclusions: The quote does not include any unforeseen work or materials not specified in the initial discussion. If unforeseen circumstances arise, these will be communicated to the client, and additional charges may apply.
- Client Responsibilities: It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the work area is accessible and ready for the commencement of work. Any delay or additional preparation required by me due to the client's failure to prepare the area may result in additional charges.
- Cancellation of Accepted Quotation: In the event of cancellation by the client after acceptance of the quotation but before work commencement, I reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee as detailed in the cancellation policy of these terms and conditions.
- Pricing:
My pricing structure is as follows:
- Initial Hour Rate: The service provided is charged as indicated on the quotation. This rate is comprehensive and covers the cost of labour and the expertise brought to your project.
- Subsequent Hours: For any subsequent hours not covered under the quotation, services will continue to be billed at the same rate of £50 per hour. This consistency in pricing is aimed at providing my clients with predictability and fairness in billing.
- Application of Rates: This pricing structure applies to all clients, both residential and commercial, unless a different rate has been agreed upon in advance. Any variations to the standard rates will be clearly communicated and agreed upon in writing before the commencement of services.
- Minimum Charge: Please note that a minimum charge of one hour applies to all jobs. This is to cover the cost of travel, preparation, and the time allocated to each job.
- Estimates and Final Costs: While estimates of time and cost will be provided as accurately as possible, the final invoice will reflect the actual hours worked. This ensures that clients only pay for the time and services utilised.
- Clarification of Charges: Should there be any need for additional work outside the initially estimated scope, clients will be informed beforehand, and additional costs will be discussed and agreed upon.
- Cancellation Policy:
I understand that plans can change. However, to ensure efficient scheduling and resource allocation, the following cancellation policy is in place:
- Cancellation Notice: If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I kindly request at least 24 hours' notice. This allows me to adjust my schedule and accommodate other clients who may be waiting for services.
- Cancellation Fee: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the agreed-upon appointment time will incur a cancellation fee of £50. This fee compensates for the time reserved for your appointment and the potential loss of other business opportunities.
- Notification Method: Cancellations must be communicated either via phone call, text message, or email. I recommend phoning for last-minute cancellations to ensure the message is received in a timely manner.
- Cancellations by Me: In the rare event that I must cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, I will endeavour to reschedule at the earliest convenience and no cancellation fee will be charged.
- Aborted Visits: In instances where the visit has to be aborted due to the client providing incorrect materials, thereby preventing work from proceeding, a charge of £50 will be applied.
- Payment Terms:
Kindly refer to the following payment terms:
- For Residential/Homeowners Payment for services rendered must be made in full before I leave the premises upon completion of the work. This ensures that all transactions are concluded promptly and efficiently, aligning with the completion of the service.
- For Commercial Clients: Payment must be made within one week of the invoice date. An itemised invoice detailing the services provided and the total amount due will be presented upon completion of the work. Upon receipt of payment, a formal receipt will be provided for your records.
- Late Payment: Payments are due immediately upon completion of the work for residential/homeowner clients and within one week of the invoice date for commercial clients. In cases where payment is not received within these specified periods, an interest on the outstanding amount will be charged at a rate of 4% above the Bank of England’s base rate, calculated from the due date to the date of actual payment.
- Debt Collection: In the event of failure to make timely payments as specified in the agreement, I reserve the right to engage the services of a debt collection agency. You shall be liable for all costs and expenses incurred by me in the process of debt collection, including but not limited to legal fees, collection agency fees, and any other associated costs.
- Partial Payments: Under normal circumstances, partial payments are not accepted. However, if there are extenuating circumstances that require consideration, this must be discussed and agreed upon before the commencement of the work.
- Materials, Plant, and Contractors:
When I procure materials, plant, or hire additional contractors on behalf of the client, it is understood that managing these aspects incurs additional responsibilities and overheads. To cover these aspects, a 10% uplift on the cost of these items or services will be applied to the final invoice. This charge is to compensate for the time and resources expended in sourcing, coordinating, and managing these additional elements, ensuring that the client receives the most suitable materials and services for their project, while maintaining the high quality of work that I am committed to providing.
- Travel Policy:
I primarily offer my handyman services within the SW8 area, and I also extend these services to the SW1, SW9, SW11, SW4, and SW3 areas to cater to a wider client base. Should my services be requested outside of these specified zones, I will need to apply additional charges to cover the increased travel costs and the time involved in travelling to and from these locations. I make it a priority to inform my clients of these additional costs at the time of booking or upon confirmation of the service location. This approach ensures that there is complete transparency and agreement regarding any extra charges before I begin the work, maintaining clear and fair pricing practises.
- Limitation of Liability:
In providing handyman services, I, Jordan, shall perform my duties with reasonable skill and care, adhering to the professional standards expected within the industry. However, it is important for clients to understand that my liability for any claims, damages, or losses arising from or connected with the services provided is strictly limited. This limitation of liability shall be to the total amount paid by the client for the specific service that is the subject of the claim. This means that in no event shall I be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of profits, or interruption of business, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This limitation of liability reflects the agreed upon allocation of risk between myself and the client and is a fundamental element of the basis of the bargain between us. It is also understood that this limitation does not apply to any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
- Amendments:
These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time. Any changes will be communicated to existing clients and will apply to all services provided thereafter.
